By choosing to add glove steaming to your cart, you've not only purchased a great new baseball glove, but also permitted us to make it almost game day ready. You won't have to spend hours shaping and forming it, or worry about breaking it in the wrong way. It will be soft, flexible and ready to adapt to your specific hand and catching style.
Please note, we will not be fully breaking in the glove. With our service, the leather will be delivered in a more supple condition, facilitating a smoother break-in process upon its arrival.
How It Works
1. Condition It
We apply a special glove conditioner to open pores in the leather and help it soften.
2. Steam It
Your glove is placed in manufacturer-approved steamer at 150°F, allowing water molecules to permeate the glove, making it softer and more malleable.
3. Pound It
We pound your glove with a wooden mallet on a leather pad to loosen it at key break-in points.
4. Seal It!
Cream is applied to close the pores and seal in the hydration.
5. You Test It
When your glove arrives, just play catch to get the fit and feel exactly like you want.
NOTE: We do not accept returns on gloves that have been steamed. The glove will come with a ball placed inside to help form the pocket and will be wrapped with bands to help maintain the shape.
